A GRAPHICAL METHOD OF DETERMINING THE STABILITY CHARACTERISTIC OF A SYSTEM CONTAINING TWO NONLINEAR ELEMENTS,

Abstract

A graphical method is shown of finding the roots of equation: The determinant whose element in the jth row and nth column is f sub jn = o, when two nonlinear elements are present in the system. This method consists of calculating the response of the system at a finite number of points in the amplitude-frequency plane. From these calculations, the system may be graphically expressed in terms of amplitude and frequency contours in the gain-phase plane. (Author)
