FLOW OF LIQUID THROUGH MULTIPLE ORIFICES.

Abstract

A model is developed for predicting the rate of fluid loss from a closed tank containing an arbitrary number of perforations (orifices). Good agreement with experiment is obtained for the two orifice shapes (circular and rectangular) and the three liquids (water, gasoline, and diesel fuel) which were studied. Results indicate that the graphs and formulas developed will apply to many other orifice shapes and liquids. (Author)
