A GENERAL PROCEDURE FOR THE ANALYSIS OF ELASTIC AND PLASTIC FRAMEWORKS.

Abstract

A general procedure is presented for tracing the load-deflection characteristics of frameworks loaded through the elastic range to the plastic collapse stage. An iterative analysis procedure is employed in which the load-displacement characteristics of the structure are linearized over finite loading increments. Consecutive non-proportional load systems consisting of any arrangement of concentrated member and joint loads are considered. (Author)
