THEORETICAL ANALYSIS OF A SECONDARY EMISSION EXPERIMENT ON INSULATORS,

Abstract

A mathematical model is developed of a simple experimental situation involving secondary electron emission and radiation induced conductivity in insulating materials. The observable current is related to other variables and to various material properties, and a practical numerical method of computation is given. Typical numerical results obtained with the help of a Fortran program for the IBM 1130 computer are presented and discussed. The model is expected to be useful in planning experiments and in interpreting experimental data.
