EFFECT OF THE ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION ON THE NEUTRALIZING POTENCY OF ANTIVENINS

Abstract

Using a variety of venoms, it was demonstrated that the route of administration has a decisive influence in the demonstration of the protective effect of a given antivenin. It is suggested that in testing the efficacy of an immune serum, both intravenous and intraperitoneal administration should be given consideration.
