A THEORY OF APPROXIMATIONS IN SIMULATOR BEHAVIOR

Abstract

A mathematical expression is written for the changes in transient frequency and damping which result when the feedback branch of a single loop system is altered slightly. The result is applied in a general discussion of the accuracy of aerodynamic simulators with numerical examples of roll simulation, and suggested experiments to evaluate the approximations involved in practice.
