A NUMERICAL-GRAPHICAL METHOD OF CHARACTERISTICS FOR AXIALLY SYMMETRIC ISENTROPIC FLOW PROBLEMS,

Abstract

A method of iteration for increasing accuracy at low Mach numbers is indicated. The method is applied to the problems of flow in a hyperbolic diverging channel and flow around a conical-nosed body. In the latter problem a procedure for approximating the curved shock wave is presented. An assumption of constant entropy behind the shock wave is necessary. (Author)
