TEST OF STRAIN-GAGE STRUT IN ABERDEEN TUNNEL,
Abstract
The first tests of a strain-gage strut in the Aberdeen wind tunnel are described. Data on calibration and zero drift are given, together with two methods of interpretation of wind tunnel data, one in detail and one in brief. Determination of lift was good, and moment less so. No obstacles were encountered which would make it seem undesirable to continue with work toward installation of a strain-gage balance system in the Daingerfield tunnel. (Author)
