STUDY OF LOCALIZED MAGNETIC MOMENTS BY ELECTRON PARAMAGNETIC RESONANCE.

Abstract

Recent transmission paramagnetic resonance has been applied to a dilute magnetic alloy Cu:Mn. A number of years ago, Hasegawa showed how resonance in dilute alloys could be understood by writing down a set of phenomenological Bloch-like equations. However, aside from the ambiguities mentioned by Hasegawa himself, the equations do not describe the respective effects of the Kondo anomoly, the hyperfine interaction, nor of conduction electron diffusion. The latter difficulty is easily remedied. This report concentrates on the effects of the hyperfine and s-d interactions.
