DETAILED STUDIES OF CHEMICAL REACTION KINETICS

Abstract

A brief summary is given of theoretical and experimental studies of the details of the kinetics of chemical reactions. The primary experimental approaches were (1) measurement of the scattering of alkali metal atomic beams by crossed beams of various target molecules and (2) shock wave studies of X2 and HX molecules. Theoretical effort was directed toward an understanding of the nature of inelastic and chemically reactive collisions.
