PROPAGATION OF ELASTIC AND PLASTIC STRAIN PULSES IN BOUNDED SOLIDS.

Abstract

The primary problem was to determine how the strain pulse spreads out, or disperses for various conditions of loading and for materials with different mechanical properties. Attention was also given to the electric field which accompanies a strain pulse as it propagates through a metal. (Author)
