Arecibo Ionospheric Observatory

Abstract

The brochure describes the Arecibo Ionospheric Observatory and the scientific research program being carried there with the world's largest radio-radar telescope. Arecibo is operated by Cornell University with funding provided by the Advanced Research Projects Agency of the Department of Defense under a research contract with the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, Office of Aerospace Research, USAF. The brochure provides general and technical information on the facility, its capabilities and uses, and on radio-radar astronomy techniques and history. Technical data on the facility enables potential users of the facility to assess its applicabilities to their projects.
