REGIONAL AND ZONAL ANOMALIES OF THE GEOMAGNETIC FIELD IN THE EUROPEAN PART OF THE USSR.

Abstract

In connection with the studies of the earth's abyssal structure problems of segregation and interpretation of the anomalies of the geomagnetic field become more and more important. Obtained data was used for the compilation of a single map of the anomalous magnetic field of the whole European part of the territory of the USSR for the height of 20 km. The basic mass of local anomalies, caused by near-surface small bodies, is not reflected on the indicated map. Therefore, the regional and zonal features of the field are distinctly expressed. The presented data indicate that the different order anomalies, separated at different heights, actually reflect the structural properties and conditions of the various layers in the interior of the earth. In addition, the deepest zonal anomalies can be connected with the arrangement of the magnetoactive masses and with the phenomena of electric currents created by a physical-chemical process.
