HERMETIC SEALS IN PLASTIC BODIED CONNECTORS,

Abstract

Plastic bodies, connectors and headers that meet the requirements for hermetically sealed units are available. While such devices cannot offer the solution to all hermetic sealing problems, WJH connectors do have certain advantages, among which are: choice of materials dictated by application rather than application limited by materials; cracking due to thermal shock and mechanical stress minimized; shorter lead-time for unusual configurations; wider range of geometries practicable; higher contact density; contact pins that really are 'highly conductive'; closer dimensional tolerances.
