SUPPRESSOR, TRANSIENT ELECTRICAL MX 7778/GRC.

Abstract

Suppressor, Transient Electrical MX 7778/GRC was designed primarily to protect radio equipment from the effects of voltage transients in tracked vehicles. The prime component of this suppressor is a 36-volt zener diode array capable of reliably withstanding a reverse current of 120 amperes for 50 milliseconds. This device along with other auxilliary components comprises the electrical circuit of the transient suppressor. The report indicates the magnitude and duration of the voltage transients that can be suppressed by this suppressor for two electrical systems most commonly employed in tracked vehicles. (Author)
