INVESTIGATION OF MATERIALS TO RESIST HOT CORROSION IN SMALL GAS TURBINE ENGINE RECUPERATORS.

Abstract

The initial tasks of this program was to select and order materials which will be used to produce good samples of tube-to-header joints for a dynamic hot corrosion test. To accomplish this objective, published research reports and physical properties of the materials being considered were reviewed. The selection was made by evaluating each material on the basis of the following criteria: (1) Fabrication, (2) Hot-corrosion resistance, (3) Mechanical properties and relative costs.
