RADIATION DURING SCATTERING OF CHARGED PARTICLES ON ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES OF AN ISOTROPIC PLASMA,

Abstract

The cross section of scattering of longitudinal waves on an arbitrary charge that is moving in a plasma is calculated taking into account the nonlinearities of the plasma. The change in the cross section of Cherenkov radiation of longitudinal waves by a charged particle that occurs due to nonlinear effects is examined. The obtained results are valid for any velocities of particles and any phase velocities of waves. Through the found cross sections we can then obtain the kinetic equations that describe the nonlinear effects in a plasma of any temperatures, including ultra-relativistic temperatures. These nonlinear equations consider both the effects of the interaction of longitudinal waves and the effects of the nonlinear interaction of transverse and longitudinal waves. The obtained results are used to evaluate the role of nonlinear effects and the acceleration of cosmic rays of plasma waves. (Author)
