DIE CAST AND MECHANICAL THERMAL PULSE TERMINATION TECHNIQUES,

Abstract

The paper describes a continuing study program that has resulted in two new families of termination techniques. Shielded cables are terminated by a die casting process, allowing the simultaneous forming of functional piece parts. Bare wire, magnet wire, ribbon cable and insulated wires are terminated by the MTP family of techniques. Bonds can be made rapidly using semi-automatic, manual or portable tools. It is possible in many cases to make terminations through the insulation without stripping and through appreciable contamination. (Author)
