DEVELOPMENT OF BASIC CRITERIA FOR SIZE OF SHIPBOARD STOREROOMS.

Abstract

An investigation was conducted to determine requirements for, sources of, and validity of basic design criteria for storerooms and issue rooms for repair parts, provisions, clothing, general stores, and ships store stock for all type naval vessels. Analysis of this information revealed that the presently used design criteria is questionable and/or invalid. The SDCPs and SOAP teams were found to be potentially excellent sources for this criteria. A method of developing design criteria utilizing presently available documents and procedures with slight modifications is suggested. (Author)
