APPLICATION OF AUTOMATIC DATA PROCESSING TECHNIQUES TO TASK ANALYSIS DIAGRAMMING.

Abstract

The purpose of this exploratory project was to develop automatic data processing (ADP) techniques applicable to the construction and revision of task analysis diagrams during final development of a new system. The report presents a procedural guide to a simple experimental method of using automatic data processing in the production and revision of task analysis diagrams. Such techniques will be of benefit to both in-service and contract analysts in quickly and economically producing and revising such diagrams, as changes in system and hardware design are considered and incorporated into production-configured equipment. The resulting documents will provide a common informational tool to a variety of users in their effort to optimize the preparation and performance of the operator and technician. To avoid the necessity of security classification, the examples in this report are hypothetical, although they describe familiar types of equipment and procedures. A validation field test of this method, applied to an actual system under development, is planned for Fiscal Year 1968. (Author)
