DEVELOPMENT AND FABRICATION OF A COMPENSATOR MODEL FOR 3 CM WAVELENGTH.

Abstract

An investigation was made to develop and construct a rotating compensator by means of which the directional pattern of a circular array comprising ca. 12o aerials can be rotated so quickly that the bearing in the form of a stationary luminous indication can directly be read on a cathode-ray tube. In order to obtain such a stationary indication, the pattern has to be rotated ca. 10 times per second. This quick revolution can be achieved by means of the projected compensator when its number of revolutions is considerably lower, for example only 10 times per minute.
