300 MILLIWATT X-BAND TRIODE OSCILLATOR.

Abstract

Thirty type Y-1613-E' and sixteen Y-1613-F triodes were assembled for evaluation during the quarter. The Y-1613-F triodes have larger cathode and anode diameters to evaluate the effect of this parameter on initial and life performance. Aging tubes at high current density and high plate dissipation under d-c conditions appears more harmful to tube characteristics than under r-f conditions. Further experimentation will be made because of possible advantages accruing from d-c preconditioning. Initial efforts to obtain the desired electronic tuning range were unsuccessful. A maximum range of 4 MHz was achieved. (Author)
