METHOD OF READING STANDARD PRINTED SIGNS,

Abstract

A method is described of reading standard printed signs with the aid of electronic computer devices by comparison of the investigated sign with standard ones. For improving the dependability of the identification and exercising a constant check on the reliability of the data given out, there is effected parallel identification of the sign in its different shiftings relative to the standard. For example, in identical matrices the results of the comparison are analyzed and data are given from that matrix in which there are the greatest number of cases of coincidence between the elements of the investigated and the standard signs.
