THE APPLICATION OF MODIFIED POINT TRANSFORMATION METHOD IN THE STUDY OF NONLINEAR IMPULSE SYSTEMS,
Abstract
Generalized describing-function method is derived by continuing the differential phase plane method and describing function method. The new method can be used for the analysis of self-vibration of second order nonlinear pulse system. Comparing this new method with other existing methods, the new method not only provides much simpler procedures for constructing the intersecting loci, it can also solve other problems that cannot be answered by other methods such as determination of stability regions and the half period of self-vibration. It is proved that all self-vibrations are stable with the only exception being when kTp=0. Analysis indicates that there can be 2 or more stable self-vibrations in the nonlinear pulse system and also complex self-vibrations. A detailed study of second order nonlinearity in a pulse system of a servo mechanism was conducted with the construction of loci using the method of isoclines to determine the stability regions of self-vibration.
