AN OPERATOR METHOD FOR HARMONIC ANALYSIS ON LOCALLY COMPACT ABELIAN GROUP.

Abstract

Several fundamental theorems of harmonic analysis on locally compact abelian groups are proved utilizing straightforward methods based on the Gel'fand representation of C star-group algebras generated by the regular representation of the L prime-algebra. The main theorems discussed in this note are those of Stone, Bochner, Khinchine, Plancherel and the duality theorem for locally compact abelian group. (Author)
