NONLINEAR ESTIMATION TECHNIQUES

Abstract

A study was conducted in which a least squares criterion was used to solve a discrete, real-time nonlinear estimation problem. The technique centers around the derivation of a sequential algorithm which allows consideration of second-order nonlinearities in system measurements. Alternate nonlinear estimation techniques are discussed, and comparative examples of the various estimation algorithms are presented.
