MICROWAVE NETWORKS WITH CONSTANT DELAY.

Abstract

A general class of transfer functions whose delay is constant at all frequencies, and capable of realization by commensurate TEM microwave networks is presented. Examples of this class where the transducer power gain has equiripple behaviour in the passband, the stopband or both are given, and forms suitable for lowpass or bandpass filters, or broadband matching transformers are derived. The synthesis of networks to realize all of these functions is given in terms of closed formulae for the necessary roots. In general microwave Brune, C and D sections are required in the realization.
