FAR-INFRARED OPTICAL PROPERTIES OF PRESSED CDTE,

Abstract

The optical properties of a commercial pressed CdTe for frequencies between 15 and 50 wavenumbers were determined from spectra Fourier-transformed from interferograms obtained with the Aerospace lamellar grating interferometer. By use of parameters obtained in the mid-infrared and by adjustment of the value of the low-frequency dielectric constant to a best-fit value of 10.324 plus or minus 0.008, it was found that the measured refractive index and absorption agree well with the predictions of a damped Lorentz oscillator model.
