THE HEAT BALANCE OF WATER BODIES AND METHODS OF DETERMINING EVAPORATION (FROM THEM),

Abstract

The report considers certain problems for further investigations of the heat balance of water bodies: (1) Investigations concerning laws or principles of the radiation balance of water bodies for obtaining a reliable method of calculating the components for brief intervals of time. (2) An investigation of the characteristics of heat and moisture exchange processes over water bodies. The chief purpose here, is to obtain the exchange characteristics for equilibrium and especially for non-equilibrium conditions. The investigation of the influence of vertical fluxes on the distribution of meteorological elements over water bodies. (3) Investigations of the wind regime over water bodies. This problem is extremely important for large-scale applications in both practice and in scientific investigations. (4) Investigations of the mechanism of the interaction between a water body and its adjacent or surrounding land mass.
