ADVECTION FOGS OF COOLING OVER A SNOW COVER SURFACE,

Abstract

The report discusses the conditions under which the formation of advection fogs of cooling is possible. Such fogs are observed in autumn along the coasts of northern seas where the snow cover is established at a time much earlier than the freezing-over of water bodies and in the central Arctic where during the entire colder half of the year unfrozen lanes of water are observed.
