THE EFFECT OF ADVECTION UPON THE INTENSITY OF THE MELTING OF SNOW,

Abstract

The calculations indicate that the role of the advective factor is great in the melting process of snow. Under conditions of warm advection during 10/10 cloudiness the intensity of the melting of snow is the same as during clear days and is caused almost entirely by the turbulent heat flux from the air; the melting of snow through radiation factors is insignificant.
