EXPERIMENT IN CALCULATING THE DAILY TOTALS OF GLOBAL RADIATION ACCORDING TO STANDARD OBSERVATIONS,

Abstract

The lack of a sufficient number of stations with recordings of the global radiation intensity, Q, which is needed for the calculation of the daily totals, has made it necessary to seek a calculation method based on standard observations. The daily totals of Q, calculated according to the standard observations during cloudy days and days with variable cloudiness, in all methods of calculation deviate considerably from the totals obtained on the basis of self-recorders. During the summer months a good agreement between the monthly totals obtained on the basis of standard observations and the self-recorders, is observed.
