A STUDY OF SHORT PERIOD MICROPULSATIONS.

Abstract

Geomagnetic micropulsations in the period range of 0.3 to 120 seconds have been recorded on flux-rate variographs at many widespread locations: Palomar, California, since July 1955; Resolute Bay, Canada, since November 1957; Uppsala, Sweden, since July 1958; Reykjavik Iceland since June 1958; and Huancayo, Peru, since October 1958. The flux-rate variographs consist of pickup coils having a turns-area of 750 x 28,000 cm squared connected directly to galvanometers recording photographically with standard seismograph recording drums.
