GALLIUM-PHOSPHIDE LIGHT-EMITTING DIODE ARRAY.

Abstract

The object of the research is the design and fabrication of a versatile experimental display module incorporating an array of 60 gallium-phosphide diodes as light-emitting elements. This effort includes the associated control circuitry for accessing, latching, and providing the necessary input waveforms and impulses for X-grid and Y-grid access. This report covers the work accomplished towards the development of an experimental display module using red-light-emitting gallium-phosphide diodes. Both analog and digital X - Y scanning circuits were breadboard tested. Techniques for measuring the light output and for selecting diodes for high-density arrays were also developed. (Author)
