MICROSCOPIC METHODS FOR DETERMINING CROSS-SECTIONAL CELL DIMENSIONS.

Abstract

Microscopic techniques for determining cross-sectional cell dimentions are reviewed, with the emphasis on their relative accuracy and efficiency when applied to large-scale studies. The possibility of estimating cell wall thickness from specific gravity determinations is also considered. (Author)
