EXPERIMENTS ON IMPACT PRESSURE PROBES IN A RAREFIED SUBSONIC GAS STREAM,

Abstract

The performance of impact pressure probes (having a length to internal diameter ratio of about 10) in a rarefied subsonic gas stream was studied. The range of Knudsen numbers (based on internal diameter of the probe) was 1.0 to 15.0 and the range of the speed ratios 0.1 to 0.6. All experiments were conducted in a low density gas dynamics facility using nitrogen as the test gas. (Author)
