BIMETALLIC CASTINGS (SELECTED CHAPTERS),

Abstract

The book examines the theoretical bases of the process of producing bimetallic castings, shows the role of wetting in the formation of bimetallic compounds, proposes a mechanism for the formation of a bond between the metals in a bimetallic casting, gives an analysis of the process of the formation of an intermediate zone and shows the effect of this zone on the strength of the bimetallic bond. The book describes both Soviet and foreign experience in the production of bimetallic castings from aluminum, copper, lead and iron alloys. (Author)
