INFLUENCE OF DEFORMATIONS OF LATTICE ON PARAMAGNETIC RESONANCE,

Abstract

The effect of lattice deformations on the spectrum of paramagnetic resonance is theoretically studied. Investigated are: (1) shape of the absorption curve of magnetic and acoustic resonances in electronic and nuclear paramagnetics, due to local distortions of the crystal lattice; it is shown that the line width is proportional to the square root of the density of dislocations and is a function of the mutual orientation of the external magnetic field of the crystallograph axes and dislocation lines; (2) the width and shift of electron paramagnetic resonance lines are caused by uniform deformations. A phenomenological description is proposed for the experiments on spin-lattice relaxation measurement. (Author)
