TEMPERATURE-STABILIZED MONOSTABLE MULTIVIBRATOR.

Abstract

The classical voltage-variable monostable multivibrator circuit was analyzed in detail and the equations required to compute its temperature dependence were developed. Guidelines were derived for component selection to optimize the circuit against temperature changes. Two unique modifications, to compensate for the base-emitter junction voltage changes, were found to improve pulse-width stability with temperature variations. Three circuit designs were developed and tested over a broad temperature range; experimental and calculated data for each were compared and found to agree well. (Author)
