MODERN TRENDS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF INSTRUMENTS AND METHODS FOR DEEP-SEA INVESTIGATIONS,

Abstract

The status of oceanographic instruments and their significance to the progress of oceanographic investigations are outlined, singling out the American achievements in the use of radio buoys and satellites for the study of oceans. The major portion of the text is devoted to reviewing the work that is being done by Soviet Marine Hydrophysical Institute in the planning and development of modern electronic instruments for gathering and processing of oceanographic data.
