WIND TUNNEL SIMULATION OF HEAD-ON BOW WAVE-BLAST WAVE INTERACTIONS,

Abstract

A unique wind tunnel - shocktube technique for simulating the head-on interaction between a supersonic vehicle and a blast wave is described. The technique is verified by comparing theory with pressure measurements from a wedge and a hemisphere. Overpressure data are presented for a slender cone at angles of attack up to 10 degrees.
