NOISE STABILITY AND EFFECTIVENESS OF COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS,

Abstract

The book is devoted to problems of communication system noise stability and efficiency. Along with the classical theory of noise stability when there is fluctuating noise, this book considers problems of noise stability for channels with randomly changing parameters and some problems of noise stability for noise effect from adjacent stations, pulse noise, etc. The reference value for communication systems is derived on the basis of two properties: noise stability and efficiency. The perfect communication system is defined as a system assuring the greatest efficiency for a given noise stability or vice versa. All of these problems are not given thorough coverage; some are summarized without proofs and others are given only literature references. Optimal methods of reception for different types of transmission and methods for attaining potential noise stability are analyzed. Problems involving the practical realization of different communication system circuits are not considered. (Author)
