Abstract

The report concerns pressure measuring equipment for investigation of combustion instability phenomena in ramjets and rockets. As no universal pressure pick-up, capable of detecting very low as well as very high pressure values, is yet in existence, a number of transducers which have given good results in particular cases are described and working diagrams are given. The various component parts of the electronic apparatus and their performance are described. A discussion is given of the problems of calibration and gives the results of applications in the field of internal aerodynamics, as well as in that of external aerodynamics to which this method can easily be extended.
