DIGITAL SIMULATION OF THE WIENER CANONICAL EXPANSION.

Abstract

This effort is a substantial part of an overall program whose aim is to rigorize, continue, extend, and apply recent research results by investigating the application of Wiener Canonical representations through the synthesis of decision structures and bionic systems. The immediate goal of the total program was to define the degree of usefulness and the limits of applicability of these techniques in actual systems. A combined theoretical and computer analysis approach was utilized. The results of this effort are very encouraging; computer simulations have proved the practicality of realizing Hermite-Laguerre processors of good accuracy at moderate cost, using the Wiener process as a test case. Further research aimed at applying the Wiener Canonical likelihood function ratio concept to other processes was recommended. (Author)
