THEODOLITE WITH SHAFT ANGLE ENCODER AND DISPLAY

Abstract

The Perkin-Elmer Corporation reports on the design, development, fabrication and test of DKM3 theodolite with shaft angle encoder and decimal angular display. The angular information is presented in instantaneously updated numbers to a resolution of 0.36 second of arc. The absolute accuracy is better than plus or minus 2 seconds of arc. Recommendations to improve the design are presented.
