MODELISTIC AND REALISTIC INTERACTIONS IN THE 1P, 2S-1D AND 2P-1F NUCLEAR SHELLS.

Abstract

The excitation spectra and beta-decay comparative half-lives of He6, Li6, O18, F18, Ca42, and Sc42 are calculated using a 'modelistic' interaction containing pairing plus quadrupole-quadrupole operators (with Rosenfeld exchange), single-body spin-orbit and long-ranged tensor interactions. The resulting low-lying wave functions are compared to those obtained by other workers with hard-cored 'realistic' interactions and are found to overlap to a high degree. (Author)
