WATER AND SALT EXCHANGE BETWEEN KUBANSKIE LIMANY AND THE SEA OF AZOV,
Abstract
The study is based on data obtained during the last three years of special expeditional observations. The existing methods of studying the water exchange between the two adjacent basins that are connected with a strait are briefly discussed. The field observations of water exchange components conducted in the straits of Kubanskiye limany at various winds are outlined. In addition, the requirements that should be observed in organization of field investigations when studying the water exchange in the narrow and shallow strait are pointed out. The paper also discusses the method that was used in summing up the water exchange on the basis of empiric dependence of water transport upon sea level. Some data on water exchange by months during 1961 and 1962 are tabulated. (Author)
