UNLOADED Q OF A CAPACITIVELY LOADED TEM RESONATOR.

Abstract

The report describes some practical techniques for capacitively loading TEM resonators in the UHF frequency range (200 - 1000 MHz). The effect of various loading capacitors (air dielectric, Al2O3, sapphire, and lumped element), as well as the effect of fine-tuning on the unloaded Q, is presented. A design example is included in order to illustrate the use of certain design curves inclosed. (Author)
