NEW TRENDS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF GYROSCOPES,

Abstract

The design of a synchronous ceramic gyromotor fixed on aerodynamic bearings is presented and its advantages over gyromotors on ball bearings are discussed. The Cardan suspension, the gyrostatic suspension with two and three degrees of freedom and the hydrostatic suspension with two degrees of freedom are discussed. A Sperry gyroscope consisting of a cylinder with a liquid spherical rotor is discussed. Several other foreign gyroscopes operating on different principles are also described.
