An Improved Synthesis of 1,7-C2B6H8

Abstract

Pyrolysis of B7C2H13 and its C-methyl derivatives at low pressures in a flow apparatus operating at 360 deg C affords the corresponding B6C2H8 carborane derivative in 50-60% yield.
